Max-o-matic is a prolific collage artist, illustrator and founder of ‘The Weird Show’, a project that explores and showcases contemporary collage. His simple but powerful work has been widely exhibited worldwide. Sometimes wild and sometimes mathematical, he aims to confront the intuitive side of collage with an imposed rationalism to arrive at a new and unexpected outcome.
Max-o-matic’s work is constantly evolving, swinging from minimalism to luscious figurative themes and patterns while maintaining his own very distinctive and personal visual language. Creating imaginary worlds from forgotten material is, for Max-o- matic, a fun and bold way to escape from reality and pose questions that welcome a broader interpretation of life.
His work has been exhibited in galleries in Barcelona, London, Madrid, New York, Tokyo, Berlin, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Rome, Lima and Mexico City. His collector base is ever-growing and Max-o-matic has collaborated and worked with brands such as Nike, Wired Magazine and New York Times among others making also his signature collage work for commercial and editorial projects.
