Tracing hidden abysses and dissecting the layers of the visible, Natalie Huth intuitively searches, selects, combines and modifies material sourced from vintage magazines and books as well as from her own collection of anonymous snapshots.
Her delicately composed and expressive collages conjure up Lynchian worlds. Encountering them is like being dropped into the middle of someone else's dream. Enigmatic and otherworldly images that linger long after viewing.
“Das Unheimliche - the uncanny, the frightening of the seemingly familiar, a constant feeling of unease is a central theme in my work. Ghosts appear in the most lovely places. For many viewers my images evoke discomfort -this is not unintended. Unsettling ambiguity and a certain degree of weirdness make an artwork exciting for me.”
She graduated with a Diploma at the Faculty of Design and Illustration at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Her work is widely exhibited in Germany and internationally.
